Onsite: Mountain View, CA

We hire talented people with diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a transportation ecosystem that will make our roads safer, get crucial goods where they need to go, and make mobility more efficient and accessible for all. We’re searching for a Packaging Technician.

In this role, you will

• Assemble chip-based photonic packages using dedicated workstations in a lab
• environment.
• Support the setup, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of photonic assembly
• assembly and test equipment.
• Assist engineers with inspection, data collection, packaging, testing, and diagnosing
• issues at assembly and test stations.
• Perform accurate documentation of procedures and follow detailed work instructions.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure tasks are completed on schedule.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial experience in optical, semiconductor, or electronics packaging.
• Hands-on experience with delicate semiconductor optical chip packaging processes,
• including active optical alignment, epoxy dispense, UV curing, microscope inspection,
• electrical testing/verification, and use of relevant metrology tools.
• Experience managing lab supplies and materials inventory, and organizing equipment
• and tool usage.
• Strong communication skills, self-motivated, with the ability to work independently or
• under general guidance.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience with high-precision active alignment is a plus.
• Experience operating packaging tools such as high-precision flip-chip bonders, wire
• bonders, die shear testers, and wire pull testers.
• 5+ years of industrial experience in optical packaging preferred.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant fields preferred.

Pay range is $25-$30 per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K, parental leave, and more. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
