Job Description:

The Staff Accountant will report to the Director of Accounting in a key role within the General Ledger team for WeDriveU and will be responsible for managing a high volume of lease fixed asset and other general ledger transactions as well as fleet inquiries and monthly close process execution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage lease and fixed asset areas to keep an accurate record of all transactions.

  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations for fixed assets.

  • Communicate with asset management and payables departments to ensure new transactions and payments are accurately recorded.

  • Assist in monthly semi-annual and annual close process and financial statement preparation ensuring proper documentation and supporting detail is maintained.

  • Maintain fixed assets depreciation and vehicle leasing schedules.

  • Additional duties and responsibilities may apply.

Skills Required and Physical Demands:

  • Excellent interpersonal organizational and communication skills with ability to work independently.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting and familiarity with journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • Ability to use multiple systems including NetSuite Tipalti Microsoft Suite and Google Docs.

  • Ability to evaluate and prioritize workload while meeting tight deadlines.

  • Highly self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to grow into additional complexity and responsibility.

  • Excellent detail orientation including ability to effectively operate in a high volume transactional environment.

Education and Qualifications:

Hard requirements

This role requires a strong knowledge of accounting and Excel. The individual in this role will gain exposure to process improvement system integrations and upgrades and public-company (IFRS) accounting.

  • Bachelors Degree required

  • No prior professional experience required; exposure to accounting or finance concepts is a plus.

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

Preferred Requirements

  • Licensed CPA or CPA exam eligible is preferred.
