Position Overview:

Rookwood is seeking a part-time Retail Associate to join the team at our flagship location in Over-the-Rhine. The role is perfect for someone who enjoys connecting with guests, appreciates thoughtfully made goods, and thrives in a collaborative, design-driven environment. Weekend availability is essential, and availability during key holiday periods is required, including select blackout dates that will be discussed during the interview process.

The Retail Associate plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and inspiring in-store experience. This includes offering attentive, knowledgeable service, supporting day-to-day operations, and working closely with fellow team members to meeting sales goals, share ideas, and maintain organized inventory levels. A polished, professional presence and a genuine interest in storytelling and design will go a long way in this role.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service 
• Welcomes customers by greeting them, offering them assistance. 
• Directs customers by escorting them to displays and counters, suggesting items. 
• Advises customers by providing information on products. 
• Helps customer make selections by building customer confidence, offering suggestions and opinions. 
• Keep assigned areas organized, stocked, and well-maintained 
• Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options 
• Point of Sale transactions, packaging, and payment collections 

Qualifications: 

• Prior retail or customer-facing experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with customers and sharing product knowledge 
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holiday periods 
• A keen eye for visual presentation, with attention to detail in product displays and store upkeep 
• Enthusiastic about design, craftsmanship, and the story behind handcrafted goods 
• Comfortable learning point-of-sale systems and other retail technology 
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs as needed 
• Collaborative spirit and willingness to take initiative and contribute ideas 

Part-Time Hours: 15-25 per week 

Full-Time Hours: 32-40 per week
