Overview:
This position is responsible for all Environment, Health, Safety, and Physical Security (EHS&S) programming at a single facility level. This position administers the facility’s occupational safety programs, Federal, and state OSHA and EPA compliance, state workers’ compensation, and medical case management. This position is responsible for environmental stewardship, compliance reporting, and oversight of physical security.

Strategic Leadership & Compliance Serve as the site leader , championing the Marzetti EHS&S management system to uphold the highest standards of safety, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance. Lead hazard identification and risk abatement efforts , collaborating with operational teams to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Safety & Risk Management Act as the Marzetti Operational Excellence (MOE) Safety Pillar Champion , driving a culture of proactive safety. Oversee the Behavior-Based Safety program , analyzing data insights to refine workplace protocols. Investigate incidents, conduct root cause analysis , and implement corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement.
Regulatory Compliance & Audits Represent company interests in compliance enforcement actions and litigation , ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local laws . Prepare for and host EHS&S audits , maintaining excellence in OSHA recordkeeping , workers' compensation claims management, and required documentation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Human Resources, Supply Chain, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Sanitation teams to integrate best practices into daily operations. Foster a zero-harm mindset , responding swiftly to deviations from safety and environmental standards.
Security Oversight & Facility Protection Manage physical security, ensuring effective access control, surveillance systems, and perimeter protection . Safeguard corporate assets and personnel by enforcing security measures aligned with company policies.
Training & Employee Development Coordinate and deliver EHS&S training programs , empowering employees with the knowledge and skills needed to maintain compliance and operational safety. Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to build a high-performing safety culture.
Data-Driven Strategy & Sustainability Analyze trends, costs, and compliance data , delivering strategic insights to facility and corporate leadership. Oversee environmental sustainability initiatives , continuously improving workplace efficiency and ecological responsibility.
Operational Excellence & Reporting Compile and submit site-level and corporate reports , ensuring transparency and accountability. Maintain cleanliness, housekeeping, and plant safety standards , reinforcing a workplace built on reliability, integrity, and innovation.
