Job Description

About the Role : The Children's Mental Health Licensed Clinician, under the supervision of the Program Director, is responsible for providing services to the organization's clients and the community. Services will be in keeping with agency goals, objectives, mission, style and provided within a team framework. The clinician is responsible for working with the team in developing and meeting team goals and objectives. Support mental health awareness, prevention efforts, early identification, and referrals for treatment for children and families facing mental health challenges both at the center and in the home based programs.

Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in psychology or a related field.
  • Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred.
  • Must hold a current California BBS license (with registered license number) as an LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience providing clinical supervision in a community-based organization, with experience in child, youth, and family services.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse cultural population.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensure all necessary case file documentation is completed promptly and consistently adhering to standards set by the governing organization.
  • Maintain and complete all required case files and service documentation (both physical and electronic) in compliance with agency and funder standards; compile monthly statistics for necessary grant reporting.
  • Evaluate the developmental and social-emotional needs of children through observation, consultations with teachers and parents, and developmental screenings. Provide supportive strategies and connect families to community agencies to address these needs.
  • Adhere to agency client confidentiality, HIPAA, and mandated reporting policies.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to ensure effective collaboration and coordination of services for children and families, promoting holistic and integrated care.
  • Be an active participant in team meetings, training, and individual meetings with Program Director.
  • Assist in leading the Wellness Committee by helping to plan, organize, and implement wellness initiatives and programs aimed at promoting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of staff and community members.
  • Coach teacher(s) in maintaining classroom management by interacting with all the children including children without Special Needs during the classroom routine.
  • Ensure the safety of children as needed.
  • Advocate, as appropriate, for the rights of the children with Special Needs and their families.
  • Support staff in implementing social-emotional and behavior management techniques by providing strategic curriculum guidance and modeling effective practices.
  • Coach the teacher(s) in completing monthly observations and recording observations on appropriate record keeping forms.
  • Organize and facilitate workshops on mental health topics for parents and child care providers across various agency departments.
  • Provide leadership and initiative regarding the clinical and therapeutic needs of the program and clients.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

Required Skills :

  • Basic concepts of child growth and development and developmental behavior characteristics, particularly pertaining to students with individualized learning plans (IEP) and Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  • Social-emotional and behavior management strategies and techniques relating to students experiencing difficulties with self-regulation.
  • Positive social-emotional and behavioral interventions and applied behavioral analysis.
  • Routine record storage, retrieval, and management procedures.
  • Early childhood treatment programs and their implementation.

Pay range and compensation package :

Full Time, Exempt, $80,000-$90,000 a year
