Position: Cath Lab Technician
Location: Orange, CA 92868
Shift: Day, 4x10-Hour (06:30 - 17:00), Monday - Friday
Call: Required every other weekend and 2 weekdays per week
Float: Not required

Job Description:

The Cath Lab Technician plays a vital role in assisting cardiologists during both diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. They are responsible for operating imaging equipment, preparing patients, and monitoring patient conditions during procedures such as angiograms, stent placements, and pacemaker insertions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Patient Preparation: Ensure patients are well-informed and comfortable before catheterization procedures.
• Assist Procedures: Help with diagnostic and interventional procedures, including angiograms and balloon angioplasty.
• Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain imaging equipment to capture real-time images of the heart and blood vessels.
• Vital Monitoring: Monitor patient vital signs during procedures, reporting any changes to the medical team.
• Medication Administration: Administer contrast agents and medications as directed by the physician.
• Sterile Field Maintenance: Ensure a sterile environment and assist with setting up and handling surgical instruments.
• Post-Procedure Care: Assist in patient recovery, monitor vital signs, and ensure proper aftercare.
• Equipment Maintenance: Troubleshoot and maintain imaging equipment, while managing supply inventory.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent experience in an acute/hospital setting required.

  • Cerner Experience: Required
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, CA Fluoro license
• Documentation Systems: Cerner & Mac La
