Union Representative
Bilingual English-Spanish

Based in Minnesota

Job Title: Union Representative – Bilingual English-Spanish
Location: Minnesota
Salary: Starting at $60,000 per year

Job Summary: As a Union Representative , you will advocate for union members, ensuring their rights and interests are represented in negotiations and workplace matters. You will work closely with union members to address grievances, educate them on their rights, and facilitate a strong collective bargaining process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocacy: Represent union members in discussions with management regarding workplace issues, disputes, and contract negotiations.
  • Negotiations: Participate in the collective bargaining process, working to secure favorable terms for union members.
  • Grievance Handling: Investigate, document, and resolve grievances in accordance with union protocols and agreements.
  • Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for union members; provide information and guidance on union policies and labor laws.
  • Education: Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate members on their rights, benefits, and the importance of union membership.
  • Recruitment: Work to recruit new members and maintain relationships with current members to build a stronger union presence.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other union representatives and labor organizations to strengthen union initiatives and strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in labor relations, human resources, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a union representative.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws, regulations, and union practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and advocate for members’ needs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A car, valid driver’s license and insurance are required.
  • A commitment to the goals and the mission of Workers United.
