Job Summary: Our operating unit provides telecom construction services, and we are looking for a UG Locator to join our team. Job Responsibilities: - Receive work from dispatcher daily
- Review the work plan and locate tickets with the PC if needed to ensure proper bore path any unusual ground situations and correct product to place
- Fill out necessary paperwork (jsa, dig form, etc.)
- Gather correct construction and restoration materials and inspect crew truck daily
- Determine utilities that must be potholed to achieve a safe bore path and pothole
- Mix drilling fluid (mud) based on ground conditions observed when potholing
- Plan bore and guide operator from entry pit to receive pit safely
- Hookup correct package (set pulling eye in pipe, hook up swivel, shackle etc.)
- Watch pipe to make sure tailing are good and package is not under stress
- Help sweep product into and set peds
- Help clean up and restore area
- When filling out the jha identity and make team aware of aware of people in the work area, traffic closer than 15 from work area trip and fall hazards.
- Maintain locator and electronics
- Determine passive traffic controls needed (cones)

- Utility Locating Knowledge: Proficiency in using locating equipment and understanding of utility infrastructure, including telecom, electrical, water, and gas lines.
- Technical Skills: Ability to operate and maintain electronic locators and other specialized equipment to identify underground utilities accurately.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and precision when marking the location of utilities to avoid damage and ensure project success.
- Physical Endurance: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, such as walking and digging for extended periods.
Desired Skills & Qualifications: - Previous experience in the telecom, utility, construction, and/or engineering industry
- CDL License Preferred
