Job Summary The Sports Coach will lead and supervise summer sports programming including soccer, basketball, and flag football. Coaches are responsible for planning and implementing skill-based activities, fostering sportsmanship, ensuring safety, and creating a positive, inclusive environment for youth participants. Coaches will work closely with fellow staff and program leadership to deliver a structured and enriching experience.The Summer Sports Academies run from July 7th-August 23rd, Monday-Friday from 9am-3:30pm.
About You You are a passionate and energetic leader who enjoys working with youth and promoting athletic growth and teamwork. You will guide players through drills, games, and development sessions, aiming to build skills and confidence in a fun, respectful setting. You’ll collaborate with other coaches and support staff to ensure each day runs smoothly and safely.
What You’ll Do - Plan and lead daily sports activities in soccer, basketball, and/or flag football
- Provide individual and group instruction to improve skill levels and promote enjoyment of the sport
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during play and downtime
- Serve as a positive role model and reinforce good sportsmanship and teamwork
- Assist with set-up, breakdown, and maintenance of sports equipment and field/court areas
- Communicate regularly with program supervisors and participate in staff meetings and trainings as needed
Our Requirements - Experience playing or coaching youth sports (soccer, basketball, or flag football)
- Ability to engage and motivate children in an active and structured setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Must be available to work weekdays during summer camp hours
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Prior experience working in a camp, school, or recreational sports setting
SALARY
$16.50 per hour.
