TenEight Inc, TenEight Trucking, and TenEight Repair Inc. are separate, integrated logistics companies under an umbrella of related functions including trucking, freight brokerage, asset maintenance, and logistics industry technology development.

TenEight’s 100-truck fleet delivers critical freight to industrial and commercial customers primarily in 12–15 states located in the Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast United States. We have international operations in Belgrade, Serbia.

As a global company, we've been in business for 9 years. We're growing rapidly even in the face of the current freight industry recession. We're stable and have never had a layoff.

Our offices and terminal in Alsip, IL support trucking operations along with TenEight Repair, one of the leading shops in the Midwest. Our facility handles everything from oil changes to overhauls, including custom paint and body work, and services very large fleet customers.

We also operate a 125-space paved, secure storage facility where fleet customers pay to store trucks and trailers.

Due to our rapid growth, we are currently seeking a dynamic, motivated Service Manager to support truck maintenance, fleet operations, and customer repairs.

Job Description

The Service Manager is a hands-on leader performing tasks to monitor, maintain, and improve a company’s transportation fleet and service to customers.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Scheduling regular maintenance on all vehicles
• Providing custom solutions to third-party customers
• Providing reports to management
• Developing methods to decrease cost and improve efficiency
• Managing customer expectations on repair timing
• Data entry and computer-oriented response
• Managing shop employees
• Creating and providing training to upskill team members

Specific Job Requirements

• Expert knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance practices
• Ability to diagnose commercial vehicles and provide guidance to team members
• Basic math and data analysis skills
• Familiarity with transportation scheduling and management software
• Strong understanding of tractor-trailer mechanics; ability to identify when repairs are needed
• Diesel technician experience very highly preferred but not required
• Ability to set and monitor a budget
• Good problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
• Exceptional organization, time management, and multitasking abilities
• Keen attention to detail

General Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class A preferred
• Ability to work under pressure with stressed customers/drivers
• Clean, presentable personal image
• The ability to work well as part of a team
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

Job Type: Full-time W2 or 1099 if preferred

Compensation: Salary $100,000 to $150,000 annually + benefits

Hours of Operation

1st shift: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM CT, with some work lingering after hours.

We are currently planning a second shift based on our high growth.
