Senior Interior Designer (Hospitality Focus)

Position Overview

A leading design studio is seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer to lead and inspire teams on high-profile hospitality projects, with a primary focus on luxury hotels. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of professional experience in interior design, a proven track record in hospitality environments, and a strong portfolio demonstrating creative leadership and technical expertise.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design process for large-scale hospitality projects, overseeing all phases from concept development through to project completion.
  • Mentor and guide junior and midweight designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative studio culture.
  • Develop and present compelling design concepts, mood boards, and detailed documentation that reflect the project vision and client objectives.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure design intent is maintained and project milestones are achieved.
  • Oversee material selection, FF&E specifications, and procurement processes, ensuring the highest standards of quality and creativity.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, proactively addressing challenges to deliver projects on time and within scope.
  • Conduct site visits, review construction progress, and resolve design-related issues as they arise.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, sustainable practices, and new materials, integrating innovative solutions into project work.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional interior design experience, with a strong emphasis on hospitality (hotel) projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing design teams and complex project deliverables.
  • Advanced proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional portfolio showcasing luxury hospitality projects and creative problem-solving.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with international hotel brands and large-scale hospitality developments.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices and wellness-focused interiors.
  • Ability to cultivate client relationships and contribute to business development efforts.
