Job Description

Merritt Group is a B2B technology creative/marketing/PR agency based in McLean, VA. We are a remote-first company so employees can be based anywhere in the US (some travel may be required a few times per year). This position requires a portfolio to be submitted with your application, and experience with Figma specifically.

KEY SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • You work closely with the graphic design team and collaborate with the broader studio team to strategize, ideate, and deliver the strongest deliverables to our client - spanning a range of print and digital interactive mediums including web (Figma), PowerPoint, email, social, video, animation, and photography
  • You have the ability to work independently and own projects from conception to execution.
  • You have a robust portfolio reflecting experience in branding, web design, presentations, infographics, digital/interactive, advertising, and print design
  • You are proficient with Mac platform, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • You jump in with imaginative ideas that turn our client’s brand vision into compelling concepts
  • You’re building strong relationships with clients and they go to you directly
  • You exhibit extraordinary drive and ambition and are evolving into a leader and mentor for the graphic design team
  • You proactively drive client programs forward, deliver results and consistently bring new ideas to the table both for clients and the agency more broadly
  • You demonstrate curiosity and initiative in technology, digital media, marketing, and creative
  • You are a proactive, resourceful, and positive driver of the agency’s culture, image, and brand

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Overall Account Support & Client Relations

  • You collaborate with team members to produce print and digital products, graphic design, web design, digital design, video, and photography
  • You’re able to manage parts of larger client accounts and/or play a strong second to managers on other accounts
  • You ensure account and project goals are met and meet or exceed all deadlines
  • You’re able to lead client meetings with confidence, driving the agenda forward and ensuring we’re engaged and on track; you’re able to manage meeting follow-up independently
  • You proactively contribute meaningful input both strategically and tactically in client and internal team meetings
  • You’re vocal internally, sharing ideas across your client channels as well as agency channels
  • You proactively and consistently bring new ideas to the table — for clients and/or internal teams or committees
  • You strive to do more than is required or expected in your role; without being asked, you do things for the client or team that help drive campaigns or programs forward
  • You can juggle multiple projects and competing deadlines well, re-prioritizing when necessary, and you help teammates do the same
  • You have a persistent focus on results, and you push yourself and the team to exceed expectations
  • You show a genuine interest in the technology landscape and take the time to learn each client’s business and the competitive environment — and you regularly share those learnings with your account teams and the broader agency

Business Development

  • You treat Merritt Group as a client, identifying new opportunities and areas of growth, and engage, amplify, and contribute to our brand
  • You assist with the development of business development prospect lists
  • You provide input into strategic documents like high level background research and participate in brainstorming new ideas for business development
  • You may be asked to play a more prominent role as one of the account leads in new business pitches
  • You attend at least one networking event per quarter

Agency Operations

  • You look for ways to streamline efficiencies across the agency and are vocal when you have ideas
  • You’ve taken ownership or share ownership of an agency initiative
