Job Description

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join their team! This position is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Duties:

  • Manage physical databases on specific database technologies
  • Design and implement backup, recovery, archiving, and conversion strategies
  • Manage and maintain data definitions in all production and non-production databases and replication servers
  • Manage database distribution, security, and access requirements
  • Design and develop logical and physical layers of databases
  • Handle testing, reporting, backup, and restores
  • Provide technical assistance and mentoring to staff in developing conceptual and logical database designs and physical databases
  • Recommend, install, and maintain database software
  • Monitor performance, conduct database training, and assist application developers with tuning efforts

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in the setup and maintenance of one or more database systems in a client/server operating environment, including UDB, Oracle, Progress, SQL Server, or Access
  • Proficiency in creating tablespace areas, tables, and views, as well as in logical and physical database design
  • Knowledge of database monitoring and performance improvement techniques
  • Knowledge of database maintenance procedures
  • Familiarity with clustering and high-availability technology solutions
  • Knowledge of interfacing with client/server and Java programming languages, most commonly Visual Basic
  • Proficiency in the internals of large-scale client/server operating systems

The approximate pay range for this position is between $39.00 and $56.00 . Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
