Job Description

About Exposure

Exposure is a creative communications agency founded in 1993. Built on the power of network, our mission is to make brands culturally relevant and connect audiences across channels. We work with some of the largest and best-known brands in the world—including Polaroid, 1800 Tequila, and The New York Times—and we’re looking for entrepreneurial, dynamic, passionate, hardworking, and creative individuals to join our growing team.

This role will primarily focus on the L'Oréal NYX Cosmetics account, supporting on 360º campaigns development and creative work across photo and video.

About the Role

As Senior Art Director at Exposure, you’ll support in the creative development of photo, video, CGI, and design. This role is equal parts creative vision and strategic alignment — you’ll translate client marketing goals into visually powerful storytelling campaigns, product launches, and always-on content that connect with Gen-Z audiences across channels. While a strong design foundation is important, your primary focus will be art direction across motion and stills: driving shoots from concepting through post-production: briefing and guiding CGI and animation partners, and ensuring all creative output is elevated, on-brand, and effective. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to balance storytelling with business needs, and you’ll bring a sharp, organized approach that keeps multiple projects moving seamlessly in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead art direction for seasonal campaigns, product launches, e-commerce, and always-on content, ensuring alignment with client brand identity and marketing objectives.
  • Oversee photo and video creative from start to finish. This includes detailed art direction decks, shot lists, video storyboarding, wardrobe and prop styling, and guiding selects and retouching notes.
  • Design layouts for presentations, campaign toolkits, and cross-channel creative, ensuring concepts are expressed clearly and effectively.
  • Brief and direct CGI and animation partners to ensure renders, motion graphics, and visual effects align with creative intent, marketing strategy, and brand standards.
  • Translate marketing needs into actionable creative briefs, shoot decks, and visual references.
  • Confidently pitch and present creative work, both verbally and with strong writing skills, to internal teams and clients, clearly articulating creative rationale and securing alignment.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (marketing, brand, growth, production) to ensure creative delivers on both storytelling and business goals.
  • Direct photographers, stylists, talent, and crew to achieve consistent, brand-right imagery and video.
  • Maintain shoot decks, reference libraries, and image archives to ensure creative alignment across internal and client teams.
  • Provide clear post-production guidance from kick-off through asset delivery, including reviewing selects, cropping, and retouching notes in line with brand standards and social media guidelines.
  • Balance creativity and efficiency—managing timelines, deliverables, and multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Who You Are

  • A visual thinker whose work is grounded in ideas and strategy—you know how to connect business goals with compelling creative.
  • Someone with clear vision for photo and video art direction, with strong instincts for framing, styling, and storytelling.
  • Trend-aware, staying current on culture, design, and media, with a strong instinct for what feels relevant and resonant.
  • A collaborator and clear communicator who thrives in cross-functional environments, valuing partnership and open communication, and can express creative vision through decks, briefs, and on-set direction with confidence and precision.
  • A skilled designer with proficiency in core tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Frame.io, etc.), able to visually articulate and refine creative ideas.
  • A detail-oriented problem solver who can balance creativity with brand consistency, pushing the work forward while maintaining polish and clarity.
  • A self-starter with sharp organizational skills—comfortable managing complex shoots, juggling multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines.

We value our team and are committed to their success.

We offer a competitive salary, health insurance, 401(k), generous PTO and holiday schedule including Summer Fridays, and more. We have a hybrid working schedule, with Tuesdays-Thursdays designated as in-office days.

The salary range is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Actual compensation is based on a range of factors including but not limited to skill set and level of experience.
