Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the highest standards of safety on our projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing safety protocols to protect our workforce and comply with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and conduct comprehensive job hazard analyses.
• Organize and lead regular safety "toolbox" meetings.
• Perform routine safety inspections and audits.
• Coordinate safety training sessions and testing for personnel.
• Conduct safety orientation for new employees and subcontractors.
• Review and approve Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) for subcontractors.

Location: New London, Connecticut

Minimum Requirements:

• OSHA 30 certification.
• At least 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in bridge or heavy civil construction.
• Comfortable working at heights.
• Experience collaborating with union tradespeople.
