Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to oversee food safety and quality operations for a busy food manufacturing facility. This role is hands-on, requiring time spent on the production floor to ensure machinery, processes, and product quality meet established standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in bakery or food production environments, with proven leadership skills to manage both a quality team and sanitation department.

Location: Hyattsville, MD (100% in-office)

Pay: $75k/annually

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee quality assurance functions on the production floor, ensuring compliance with company, industry, and regulatory guidelines.
• Lead, coach, and develop a QA team of 3 employees.
• Manage and provide oversight for the sanitation department (27 employees), including working closely with the department supervisor.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and quality checks to ensure consistent product safety and quality.
• Collaborate with leadership to support upcoming process changes and maintain a strong food safety culture.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to all food safety policies and quality control procedures.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control within a food manufacturing or bakery environment.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• SQF and HACCP certifications strongly preferred.
• Solid knowledge of quality control policies, industry regulations, and food safety standards.
