Job Description

  1. POSITION DESCRIPTION
  2. Provides employee relations, and that safety and quality programs and processes are understood and followed. Ensures production schedules are followed to meet customer demand.

    1. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for the timely and accurate flow of time off for employees, payroll and attendance transactions
    • Conducts daily audit with oncoming and off going supervisor to ensure quality standards are met, safety hazards are identified, and 6S is maintained
    • Develops, trains, and evaluates employees ensuring full understanding of job duties and continued succession planning occurs
    • Provides coaching, counseling, and discipline as needed while following company guidelines
    • Identifies, assists, manages, and reports visual performance measures on continuous process improvements
    • Manages and reports performance measures, including visual controls, to leaders and designated parties
    • Ensures that OEE data is collected and reported daily
    • Help directs staff/team based on priorities
    • Conducts near miss and assists in harassment incident investigations
    • Ensures NCR/CAR/PAR are filled out following the process
    • Administers policies in a fair and consistent manner
    • Actively participates in Hopkins Safety Programs, such as Safety and PIE Help Desks, Behavior Based Safety Audits, Safe Work Cards, and reports all near miss and first aid events
    • Promotes and maintains 6S principles throughout the facility

    1. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s Degree, or five to seven years’ experience in manufacturing and/or management experience, or an equivalent combination required
    • Education/Experience with Lean concepts, principles, and other analytical tools required

    1. COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

    • Understanding of safety, OSHA and environmental regulations preferred
    • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills required
    • Strong analytical and Excel skills preferred
    • Must be able to transfer knowledge of policies and procedures
    • Computer literacy, Microsoft Office products required
    • Lock Out/Tag Out and forklift certification from company required
