The client is an innovative early-stage biotech organization focused on accelerating drug development and advancing personalized medicine through multi-omics solutions. Leveraging cutting-edge mass spectrometry technology, advanced computational tools, and comprehensive human health data, the client enables rapid biomarker discovery at scale. This approach provides deeper insights into human biology and aligns therapeutic targets with patient populations to improve treatment precision and outcomes. The team consists of highly collaborative scientists, clinicians, and engineers committed to scientific rigor and transformative innovation.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Proteomics Principal Investigator to lead complex proteomics initiatives, foster scientific breakthroughs, and strengthen client partnerships. This role requires deep expertise in mass spectrometry-based proteomics, strong leadership capabilities, and proficiency in integrating multi-omics data to deliver actionable insights within a regulated CRO setting. The ideal candidate excels in collaborative environments, mentors high-performing teams, and sets the standard for scientific excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with leading experts to promote growth through advanced training and knowledge-sharing.
  • Oversee project execution between the client and internal wet- and dry-lab teams, ensuring timely delivery and resolving challenges as needed.
  • Design research strategies, develop study plans, and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Analyze mass spectrometry data, review spectra, and identify compounds.
  • Guarantee data integrity and compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
  • Compile findings into presentations and deliverables for stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.
  • Interpret complex scientific results and stay current with emerging technologies and literature.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in CRO, pharmaceutical, or biotech environments with hands-on experience in LC-MS/MS platforms (Orbitrap, Q-TOF, timsTOF) and data analysis workflows (DDA, DIA, PRM, MRM/SRM, TMT/iTRAQ, PTM).
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role managing scientific teams and projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute advanced proteomics experiments (discovery, targeted, PTM analysis).
  • Proven track record in client-facing roles, scientific presentations, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • PhD/MD in a relevant discipline (chemistry, biochemistry, biology, pharmacology, or related life sciences) or equivalent experience. BS + 10 years or MS + 5 years relevant experience.
  • Strong background in mass spectrometry-based proteomics and data interpretation.
  • Experience with metabolomics and proteomics methodologies.
  • Skilled in managing multiple priorities, mentoring teams, and delivering results under tight timelines.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly in both written and verbal formats.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working alongside multidisciplinary teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and reliability.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of precision medicine advancements.

Role Impact

This is a client-facing leadership position, serving as a strategic partner to laboratory operations. The role involves managing 15+ client programs, contributing to study design, developing project plans, and ensuring seamless communication between clients and internal teams to deliver transformative biological insights across diverse therapeutic areas.
