Virtus Healthcare Staffing is searching for a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our partner, a leading medical center in Roseville, CA. Under the direction of a supervising physician, you will provide high-quality, patient-focused care in a variety of settings, with responsibilities that may include working in an office, hospital, emergency department, and/or a perioperative setting.

As a Physician Assistant, you will play a central role in patient care, from initial examination and diagnosis to treatment planning and patient education. Your daily responsibilities may vary based on the needs of the department and your supervising physician. In addition to core clinical duties, you may be required to work evening or weekend hours, facilitate on-call responsibilities, or perform department-specific procedures.

• Patient Care: Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations, and compile medical data. You will administer or order diagnostic tests and interpret the results to develop and implement patient management plans.

• Therapeutic and Procedural Support: Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care. Depending on your specialty, you may also facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges, as well as round on inpatients.

• Surgical and Perioperative Support: In applicable specialties, you may be required to First Assist in surgeries, perform perioperative procedures, and assist with the evaluation and management of patients during recovery. You will review charts, and assist physicians with patient discharge.

• Patient Education: Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with therapeutic regimens, health maintenance, and other relevant education, including pre-operative/pre-procedure information.

• Education: Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program by the start date.

• Licenses and Certifications:

  • A Physician Assistant License (California) is required at hire.

  • A Physician Assistant National Certificate is required at hire.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required at hire.

  • A National Provider Identifier is required at hire.

  • A Fluoroscopy Permit is required within 18 months from the date of hire for Orthopedics, Interventional Radiology, and Radiation Oncology.

• Additional Requirements:

  • May be required to have experience and competency in performing specific tasks required by the department.

  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
