PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER I / CAPITAL DISTRICT/ FACILITIES DEVELOPMENT/ OLD SACRAMENTO STATE HISTORIC PARK

Post & Bid: This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.

The reporting location for this position is the Old Sacramento State Historic Park located at 111 I Street, Sacramento, Ca. This position will work under the supervision of Park Maintenance Supervisor.   

We are looking for a highly motivated, skilled, dependable, and dedicated individual to become a member of our team. Park Maintenance Worker I, will be responsible for all facility maintenance throughout the Capital District including, but not limited to, plumbing repairs, clearing drain lines, basic carpentry, and housekeeping.

This position is designated as not telework eligible.

The incumbent’s work schedule will be Sunday to Thursday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application. Occasional travel may be required. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state-owned or leased vehicle.

Working Conditions

• Typical work activities involve frequent periods of bending, stooping, and lifting.
• Perform indoor and outdoor work often in inclement weather.
• May have extensive exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
• May work in remote locations.
• May require heavy physical work including lifting, pushing, or pulling.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) a valid California Drivers License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application. Ensure you provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.
• The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.

Per California Code of Regulations (CCR)  , this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR  .
