Job Summary:
Compton Unified School District is seeking a passionate and talented Music Teacher committed to inspiring students through exceptional musical instruction. This full-time certificated position offers the opportunity to significantly impact students' lives by fostering their appreciation and understanding of music.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, and deliver engaging and standards-aligned music education tailored to diverse student populations.
• Design instructional strategies and activities that promote student participation, creative expression, and appreciation for music across various grade levels.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students of diverse backgrounds feel motivated to explore their musical abilities.
• Regularly evaluate student performance, utilizing assessment data to refine instruction and provide clear communication to families about student progress.
• Actively collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents to support student growth and enrich the school community.
• Maintain classroom management practices that align with district guidelines and policies.

Qualifications:

• Valid California Single Subject Music Credential.
• Proof of English Learner (EL) Authorization or eligibility for authorization from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
• Successful experience delivering music instruction to diverse student populations is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and fostering an appreciation of music in all students.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to actively engage students through instructional activities, including prolonged periods of standing, conducting, instrument demonstration, and classroom management.
• Effective auditory and visual capabilities necessary for teaching music concepts and performance techniques.

Education & Certification Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's or Doctorate degree preferred.
• Valid California Single Subject Credential in Music.
• English Learner Authorization or eligibility for credential issuance from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Salary & Benefits:

• Competitive salary range: $62,900 – $117,259 annually (based on credentialing, education, and experience).
• Additional $1,000 annual stipend for educators with Doctorate Degrees.
• Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and retirement contributions.

• Employment Type: Full-Time, Certificated
• Length of Work Year: 184 days (10 months)
