Military Security Guards provide 24 hour a day security coverage. Days off will vary according to the shift you are assigned to. Journeyman level, experienced security work in support of a National Guard facility. Provide protection and security for aircraft, persons, and property on a National Guard facility. Enforce regulations and rules. Control entry to and egress from designated entry and exit points. Guard against terrorism, vandalism, and burglary. Patrol perimeters, storage areas and other buildings for suspicious or unusual conditions or incidents. Report any unusual conditions or incidents. Regulate movement in and out of restricted areas and buildings to ensure admittance of only authorized personnel. Conduct searches of persons and property, within jurisdictional limitations. Provide information upon request to the public but staying within the guidelines of Operational Security (OPSEC). Apply first aid when required. Assist in building evacuation and searching buildings for explosives or other dangerous substances when required. Enforce traffic laws and regulations. Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain log records. Monitor alarm equipment and intrusion detection systems (IDS) and initiate appropriate response forces. Provide other service necessary to secure location resources and personnel as approved by the Installation Force Protection Office. Minimum Qualificationscapable of standing for prolonged periods and able to walk moderate distances and climb stairs.
