Description:

SUMMARY:

The human resource administrator supports the organization in several areas including coordination of employment activities, receiving and acting on employee complaints, administering employee records, ensuring compliance with company HR policy, facilitating employee training activities and administering benefits programs. Works closely with the payroll administrator in all areas such as payroll, insurance payments, retirement benefits, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicates company Human Resource policies, procedures, and standards to employees and managers.
  • Maintains employee training files
  • Calculate voluntary deductions such as health and retirement benefits
  • Tracks and responds to unemployment claims
  • Responds to employee relation issues such as employee concerns, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints
  • Prepares reports for workers compensation insurance, retirement benefits, etc.
  • Interviews, screens, and recruits job applicants to fill entry level, professional, and technical job openings
  • Works closely with the insurance carrier and retirement plan provider and sets up employee retirement accounts and forwards retirement funds to the plan provider each pay period
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum associate's degree is preferred and/or equivalent experience in human resources.
