Job Description

Job Summary:

The Golf Course Marshal is responsible for ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all guests on the golf course. This role involves monitoring pace of play, enforcing course rules and etiquette, and providing general assistance to golfers. The ideal candidate is friendly, professional, observant, and committed to excellent customer service.

• Monitor pace of play and encourage groups to maintain appropriate timing standards.
• Enforce golf course rules and etiquette in a courteous and professional manner.
• Assist players by providing information about the course layout, hole locations, and course policies.
• Ensure safety and proper behavior among all golfers on the course.
• Provide assistance during emergencies or rule disputes and report incidents to management.
• Inspect the course for any issues such as damaged areas, unauthorized players, or safety hazards, and report findings.
• Serve as a liaison between the pro shop, maintenance staff, and golfers to communicate relevant information.
• Promote a positive and friendly atmosphere to enhance customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a customer service role; golf course or hospitality experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, and course operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and polite in stressful or confrontational situations.
• Physically able to drive a golf cart and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Working Conditions:

• Outdoor work environment with exposure to sun, wind, and other weather conditions.
• Use of golf carts and radios.
• Interactions with the public and staff in a dynamic setting.
