Job Description

Job Title: General Liability Adjuster

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Compensation: $35-$40 per hour

Location: In-office, Greenwood Village, CO 80111

Duration: 90 days, could be extended

Summary

This position is responsible for managing moderate to complex commercial general liability injury and auto claims. The adjuster ensures all claims are handled in accordance with client, carrier, and internal guidelines, statutory regulations, and industry best practices.

Key responsibilities include conducting investigations, setting reserves, managing claims throughout their lifecycle, and resolving or litigating claims in a timely and cost-effective manner. The role requires minimal supervision and a strong ability to assess loss nature, coverage, and claim scope.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and evaluate general liability and auto claims.
  • Set and maintain appropriate reserves.
  • Handle claims through resolution or litigation.
  • Draft professional written communications including caption reports, reservation of rights letters, and disclaimers.
  • Negotiate settlements for complex injury and claims-made cases.
  • Manage litigation and participate in mediations, arbitrations, and appeal hearings.
  • Serve as a claims client manager for designated accounts.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, defense counsel, clients, claimants, and insurers.
  • Travel as needed for hearings, mediations, client reviews, and trial monitoring.
  • Maintain data integrity within the agency management system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in general liability claims handling.
  • Experience in professional lines is a plus.
  • Claims leadership experience or industry designations preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Teams, and Zoom.
