Role Description

We’re looking for a creative and technically skilled individual who can manage, maintain, and improve our WordPress websites. This role requires both design sensibility and backend development experience to ensure fast performance, great UX, and strong SEO performance. You will work closely with our marketing team to implement landing pages, improve site structure, and support digital campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress websites for Steel Structures America and affiliated brands
• Collaborate with marketing to implement landing pages, lead generation funnels, and promotional content
• Optimize websites for speed, mobile responsiveness, and SEO best practices
• Perform routine updates, plugin and theme maintenance, backups, and troubleshooting
• Customize themes and templates (using PHP, CSS, JavaScript, HTML) as needed
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and ADA compliance
• Set up and manage forms (e.g., Gravity Forms), conversion tracking, and analytics integration
• Provide UX/UI recommendations and implement A/B testing where applicable
• Maintain site security, performance, and uptime with proactive monitoring
• Collaborate with marketing to implement tracking pixels, meta tags, schema, and other marketing tools

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in WordPress web design and development
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL
• Deep experience with WordPress CMS, themes (custom and premium), and plugin ecosystems
• Proficient in responsive/mobile-first design and performance optimization
• Experience with SEO best practices and implementation
• Familiarity with Google Tag Manager, Analytics, Search Console, and conversion tracking
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple projects
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar design tools
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in construction, home improvement, or related industries
• Familiarity with Elementor, WPBakery, or other visual page builders
• Understanding of UX design principles and conversion rate optimization (CRO)
• Experience working in a collaborative marketing or agency environment
