Job Description

Position Summary: The On-Staff Mechanic Specialist at Banko Overhead Doors is responsible for maintaining and repairing fleet vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition to support the company's operations. This position requires the individual to perform routine maintenance, diagnose mechanical issues, and perform repairs both on-site at the company garage and in the field as needed. The specialist will also provide input on vehicle conditions and repairs to the Fleet Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance on fleet vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, tire pressure and brake checks.

• Diagnose and repair battery, lighting, and other mechanical issues.

• Travel to job sites in company vehicles to assess and repair fleet vehicle needs in the field.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed on fleet vehicles.

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

• Communicate regularly with the Fleet Manager regarding vehicle status and repair needs.

• Perform tire replacements and other minor vehicle adjustments as necessary.

• Stay updated on the latest vehicle technologies and mechanical repair techniques.

• Ensure the proper tools and equipment are available and maintained.

• Assist in managing the inventory of vehicle parts and supplies.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification preferred.

• Previous experience in fleet maintenance and repair.

• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, transmissions, and engine diagnostics.

• Excellent driving record.

• Ability to travel in company vehicles to job sites for on-site repairs.

• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate with the Fleet Manager and team.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time.
