Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to prepare fiber optic cables, perform single and ribbon splicing, and utilize various hand tools and testers. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of fiber splicing, a safety-first approach, and a strong work ethic focused on achieving results.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare fiber optic cables for splicing, including a range of cable types (armored, dielectric, MIC, wet, dry).
• Perform fiber splicing cuts and tests in live fiber optic trays.
• Install and route fiber optic cables (aerial, underground, ISP) and organize fiber splicing cases.
• Execute single mode and ribbon splicing, including color coding, OTDR, and Power Meter testing.
• Maintain and service splicing equipment and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
• Safely operate vehicles and equipment as directed.
• Collaborate with network teams and assist with cable relocations and hot cuts.
• Read and interpret construction prints and diagrams.

Requirements:

• 1-3+ years of experience in fiber splicing.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong focus on safety, teamwork, and problem-solving.
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule:

• Primarily 7AM-5PM, Monday-Friday with night work and weekend work likely.
