Electrical Planner Needed!

Pay rate: $55.00 dls per hour

Location: CHICAGO IL

Shift: 8:00 am 5:00 p.m

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Planner to join our team. This role is responsible for planning and coordinating daily work activities related to transmission and substation operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in utility operations, work planning, and regulatory compliance, with the ability to lead cross-functional coordination efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage work schedules and assignments based on operational priorities and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external contractors to ensure timely execution of work activities.
  • Monitor progress and adjust plans to meet project timelines and budget constraints.
  • Allocate resources including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Communicate schedules and updates to stakeholders and team members.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and provide guidance to ensure efficient task completion.
  • Maintain compliance with NERC and FERC regulations and company policies.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in transmission and substation planning.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5–10 years in utility operations or related field.
  • Certifications: NERC and FERC qualified.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in reading one-line diagrams and SCADA points.
  • Experience with SRS system and Voyager platform.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite, AS8, and general utility planning tools.
  • Planning Expertise:
  • Demonstrated experience with Switching Request processes.
  • Knowledge of material ordering, permit requests, and contract processing.
  • Leadership: Ability to work across departments and lead planning initiatives in a dynamic environment.
  • Education: No specific degree required; relevant experience and technical proficiency are essential.
