Cost Accountant | Spring Lake, MI

Salary Range: $71,000 - $105,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and profitability.
• Develop and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Manage inventory valuation, including work-in-process and finished goods.
• Prepare detailed cost reports, budget vs. actual analyses, and performance metrics.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to production costs.
• Identify and recommend cost reduction opportunities and process improvements.
• Reconcile inventory accounts and ensure accuracy of cost data within the ERP system.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2-5 years of progressive experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles, including standard costing and variance analysis.
• Experience with inventory valuation, BOM analysis, and production reporting.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare accurate, timely reports.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with specific manufacturing ERP modules (e.g., SAP CO/PP, Oracle EBS Manufacturing)
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
• Advanced Excel skills (VBA, Power Query, Power Pivot)
