Cost Accountant | Holland, MI

Salary Range: $65,000 - $98,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare detailed cost reports.
• Develop and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Perform variance analysis between actual and standard costs, investigating discrepancies.
• Manage inventory valuation and cost of goods sold calculations.
• Support product costing, pricing analysis, and profitability assessments.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to production costs.
• Identify and recommend cost reduction opportunities and process improvements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles, variance analysis, and inventory valuation methods.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
• CMA or CPA certification preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience applying Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) or advanced data analysis techniques (e.g., SQL).
• CMA or CPA certification (or actively pursuing).
• Experience with capital expenditure analysis and post-implementation ROI tracking.
