Cost Accountant | Hart, MI

Salary Range: $64,000 - $97,000 depending on experience

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Hart that are seeking skilled Cost Accountants. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs, actual vs. standard, and investigate significant variances.
• Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and profitability analyses for products, departments, and projects.
• Manage inventory valuation, including obsolescence reserves and physical inventory reconciliation.
• Assist in the annual budgeting process, particularly for production costs and overheads.
• Identify and recommend cost reduction opportunities and process improvements within manufacturing operations.
• Ensure accurate and timely closing of the inventory and cost modules in the ERP system.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production cost drivers.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced ERP costing modules (e.g., SAP CO, Oracle EBS, Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O)
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for presenting cost analysis
• Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodology experience
• Advanced Excel modeling and VBA scripting capabilities
• Experience with SQL for querying and extracting data from large databases
