Job Description

As the Ethics and Compliance Officer, you will ensure DMVA's leadership team, management, and employees comply with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, agency policies and procedures, and standards of conduct. This position exists as a channel of communication to receive and direct compliance and privacy issues to appropriate resources for investigation and resolution. You will also manage the HIPAA/privacy and healthcare regulations portion of the DMVA compliance program.

 
You will be expected to complete HIPAA/privacy, compliance, and ethics investigations. These investigations will aide in your efforts to develop and implement appropriate resolutions, write policy recommendations, create and implement training, and audit program office activities for compliance. If you have experience with all aspects of healthcare compliance, including, but not limited to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Corporate Compliance program structures including Fraud, Waste, and Abuse, we encourage you to apply and help us provide the best care for Pennsylvania's veterans and their families!

Work Schedule and Additional Information: 

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute lunch.
  • Telework:  You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 5 days out of 10 days. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Annville.
  • Salary:   In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 2; or
  • Four years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management of staff work in public or private organization, including experience in personnel management budgeting or procurement; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.  

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.  
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Certifications in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), and Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC)
  • Experience in progressively responsible and varied health care management or compliance work
  • Experience with healthcare regulations
  • Experience with direct healthcare compliance
  • Experience conducting investigations
  • Experience in data collection and analysis
