Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to work as part of a team. Willingness to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing protective gear as needed.

Under the direct supervision of a qualified trainer or supervisor, the trainee will learn to operate basic equipment necessary for the transfer of chemicals and the production and packaging of products created by mixing two or more raw materials. The basic equipment includes, but is not limited to, chemical hoses, diaphragm pumps, centrifugal or positive displacement pumps, agitators, and manual valves.

Key responsibilities include:

• Understanding the use of utilities such as compressed air, steam, cooling water, and nitrogen (N2).
• Reviewing batch orders and checking raw materials.
• Charging raw materials and overseeing the mixing operation.
• Finishing batches, packing out products, and closing orders.
• Following all site safety rules and using specific personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Recognizing hazards and reviewing Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for emergency response.
• Comprehending safe permitting procedures, equipment isolation from hazardous energy, and lockout/tagout protocols.

Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Willingness to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing protective gear as needed.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
• High school diploma required; 2 years of vocational training preferred.
• This is an entry-level position.
