JOB DESCRIPTION
Build relationships with decision-makers, identify opportunities for growth, and close sales, that ensure customer satisfaction.
DUTIES
- Responsible for obtaining customer orders on an inbound and outbound call basis, aggressively growing individual territories and supporting team and departmental requirements to achieve goals.
- Responsible for all sales activities for small to medium retail outlets within assigned customer base as well as sales activities for new and prospective clients.
- Liaison between the customer and operational functions (including distribution and credit) to assure complete customer satisfaction.
- Contact all accounts within the database during each month of active duty; contact should include a brief review of account history, plus notations as to order frequencies and necessary follow-up.
- After making initial calls, responsible for making daily calls to customer base based on past communication and notes.
- Outbound call activity should be consistent and productive so that goals are regularly attained. Achieving or exceeding goal is a vital requirement of the position and will be frequently reviewed. Minimum goal expectations are listed on the compensation program for this position.
- Receive inbound sales calls, including but not limited to data entry of inbound and written orders (via fax, email, mail, etc.)
- Actively up sell and increase orders through suggestive selling techniques.
- Participate in selling competitions, SPIFF programs and product campaigns and achieve results within these programs.
- Study and learn the current product selections within Petra’s product mix, making a strong effort to upgrade knowledge during tenure with Petra.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with customers by initiating action on customer service issues in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Required to maintain a minimum duration of time (subject to change) as determined by Management, per day on active call duty (inbound and outbound time).
- Responsible for making daily outgoing sales calls.
- Effectively communicate customer feedback, expectations, needs and problems to management.
- Follow all procedures and protocol for sales techniques, follow up processes and operational functions.
- Maintain superior customer service reputation with customers, coworkers, team leaders and management. This includes quick and decisive action to requests, ability changes and alternatives in procedures, processes and functions.
- Remains familiar and compliant with all company policies and procedures in the performance of job duties and regarding individual activities and behaviors.
- Maintains acceptable attendance in accordance with company policies and departmental standards.
- Conducts self in a professional, courteous, respectful and friendly manner at all times when interacting with coworkers, clients or vendors.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience:
- 1 year Sales and/or Call Center Experience required (Consumer Electronics Industry preferred).
SKILLS & CERTIFICATION
Skills:
- Superior communication skills with high ethics and strong moral character.
- Proficient with various computer programs: Microsoft Office, CRM programs, and general technological proficiency.
- Outgoing personality with ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Sharp attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects efficiently and effectively.
- Typical Physical Demands:
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping. Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
