La Betty, sister-restaurant to A Baked Joint and Baked&Wired and located in the Mount Vernon Triangle of Washington, D.C., is now seeking an experienced, personable, and wine enthusiast Bar Service Manager for the re-opening of this establishment.

As the leader of our management team, the Bar Service Manager is expected to create and maintain a caring and supportive environment at la Betty, while pushing our team to achieve greatness daily. The Bar Service Manager is responsible for overseeing, training, and holding all front of house staff accountable (no more than 5 team members), maintaining a high level of organization / systemization, and establishing a high level of customer service. We are also particularly interested in candidates with passion and knowledge of wine.

Please have solid references and a history of achievement in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Weekends are required. Teamwork and leadership are key values of our management.

About la Betty

La Betty originally opened in 2019 to rave reviews as the Baked&Wired group’s first sit down restaurant specializing in upscale comfort food. Forced to close in the pandemic, la Betty is now re-opening with a fresh new concept.

This position is a full-time position which requires evening and weekend availability. Located within walking distance from the Red and Blue/Green line and free parking available.

Qualified candidates should have:

  • At least two years management experience, preferably in a fast paced restaurant or bar.
  • Passion and knowledge for wine.
  • Previous manager experience with inventory and ordering, scheduling, ordering, understanding and controlling costs, and management / troubleshooting of POS systems.
  • Strong front of house experience - ability and passion to connect with guests and create long lasting relationships.
  • Extreme attention to detail and exceptional work ethic - Must be able to manage the entire operations of a restaurant, as well as demonstrate the ability to organize, prioritize, and successfully follow through on multiple tasks.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication skills and the ability to adapt in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Excited to learn, teach and grow.
  • Experience in all staffing and ground level human resource needs (hiring, firing, training, managing, scheduling, station and position work lists).
  • High competency in high volume service flow and floor management.
  • Strong abilities in maintaining a dining room and floor image, cleanliness and organization.
  • Knowledge and management of all DC health codes (current ABRA/ServSafe/DC DOH Certification is a plus).
  • Great problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Responsibility acting as liaison to owners,
