Job Title: Automation Engineer - Aerospace Manufacturing

Location : Hampton, VA

Job Type : Full-time, On-site

Salary : $85,000-$105,000/yr

DSJ Global has partnered with a leader in the Aerospace industry in searching for an Automation Engineer. This position will be instrumental in identifying new manufacturing technology. Responsibilities include working with vendors and design teams, follow through during the build phase, and implementation of this equipment in production before handing it off to the manufacturing team.

The Automation Engineer will…

• Design and maintain robotic programs for HHC Monoshell/Wax manufacturing.
• Manage design and programming of fixtures in robotic processes.
• Train and support operators in using automation.
• Document changes to production programs for future reference.
• Identify key input variables to ensure process stability despite minor casting variations.
• Implement key output variables to confirm successful completion of critical functions before proceeding.
• Validate sand tower alignment with distribution/uniformity standards.
• Assist in cross-functional scrap reduction initiatives

The Automation Engineer should have…

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited institution required.
• Must be able to provide documentation in the original form establishing both your identity and your employment eligibility in the U.S.
• This position entails access to export-controlled items you must be able to lawfully obtain access to such items.
• 3+ years' experience working with controls/programming robotics.
• Experience with Motoman and/or Fanuc robots
• Offline programming experience.
• Familiarity with fixture design for implementation in a robotic cell is beneficial.
• Prior exposure / knowledge of statistical analysis
• Green Belt certification in Six Sigma is preferred.
