Job Description

Associate Attorney - Construction Law - Boca Raton

Looking for a Florida-licensed attorney with 6+ years of experience with construction matters.

Our law firm is positioned as Florida's Premier Residential Construction Law Firm for Homeowners. We help homeowners before, during, and after their custom home builds and major home renovation projects. We provide advice, guidance, and contract drafting services to homeowners before projects. We provide ongoing advice and guidance as a Renovation Concierge during projects. We also perform these services for HOAs and Condominium Associations.

We provide fixed-fee pre-litigation services to homeowners when their projects go sideways in terms of time, money, and quality of work. We provide litigation services in select cases. This is a niche within the construction law niche that we are currently dominating through value-added services and creative billing models (not just hourly rates). We also represent a select group of contractors with their contracts and collections/lien issues.

Our firm has experienced significant and aggressive growth over the past few years, and we are seeking a client-service-oriented, full-time construction litigation associate attorney experienced in handling disputes between contractors and owners to join our team as our fourth attorney.

The role involves providing legal advice and guidance to homeowners, contractors, HOAs, and Condo Associations regarding their construction projects, actively litigating cases, handling depositions, attending court hearings, drafting contracts, negotiating on behalf of homeowners with contractors or other lawyers, and all phases of litigation.

Our office is in East Boca Raton. We do work throughout the entire State of Florida. This position can be filled by a Florida-licensed attorney working anywhere and promises to be extremely rewarding.

Applicants submitting cover letters explaining what attracts them to this position will be given priority.

Compensation:

$135,000 - $180,000 yearly including incentives

Responsibilities:
  • All phases of construction dispute resolution, from pre-litigation through and including trial.
  • Guiding homeowners, contractors, HOAs, and Condominium Associations through issues common to major renovation projects, including issues relating to payments, timing, and quality of work.
  • Communicating empathetically with non-institutional clients in need of valuable, real-life guidance with issues of great importance to them.
  • Resolving the clients’ issues as promptly and efficiently as possible.
  • Negotiating with opposing parties or their attorneys to resolve ongoing construction disputes.
  • Drafting, revising, and advising on construction contracts to owners, HOAs, Condominium Associations, contractors, and subcontractors.
Qualifications:
  • You are licensed in Florida with 6+ years of construction litigation.
  • Construction transactional experience is a plus.
  • You focus on resolving disputes efficiently as dictated by the best interests of the client.
  • You are empathetic yet can have tough conversations with clients.
  • You are a strong negotiator.
  • You are savvy with technology and AI.
  • You take pride in accuracy and attention to detail while handling an increasing volume of work.
  • You desire to be part of a team driven by a purpose.
  • You are able to manage multiple projects at once.
  • The ability to generate clients within the firm’s niche will be rewarded.
