Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to join our Masonry Division. This role combines hands-on field supervision of our self-perform masonry teams with project management support responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry construction and the ability to manage multiple projects across Indianapolis-area job sites.
Key Responsibilities
Field Operations
Oversee and supervise self-perform masonry teams across multiple job sites in Indianapolis
Ensure work quality meets company standards and project specifications
Coordinate daily operations and workflow for masonry crews
Conduct regular site inspections and quality control assessments
Maintain jobsite safety standards and compliance
Project Management Support
Assist with preparation and review of project submittals
Support bid preparation and estimation processes
Handle construction management administrative tasks
Coordinate with project managers on scheduling and resource allocation
Maintain project documentation and reports
Communication & Coordination
Serve as primary point of contact between field crews and project management
Communicate project status and updates to Project Manager
Coordinate with other trades and subcontractors as needed
Interface with clients and architects regarding masonry-related matters
Required Qualifications
Masonry construction experience required
Proven experience in field supervision and construction management
Strong understanding of masonry techniques, materials, and installation methods
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
Formal education in construction management or related field
Previous experience in a superintendent or assistant superintendent role
Knowledge of construction safety regulations and OSHA standards
Experience with construction management software and tools
Work Environment
This position offers a dynamic work environment split between field and office settings. You'll spend time on active construction sites supervising masonry operations while also working in our office on project management tasks.
